Hey, we are Wohnglück Design

Own wohn.glück products. First a pipe dream, then a loose idea and from now on an integral part of wohn.glück. For ages I had been thinking about making my own products. But the what, how and where never really came together. Apart from that, I clearly lacked the courage to set it up on my own. And so the idea was always pushed far back in my head, true to the motto: "maybe someday..."

Sometimes, however, all it takes is a little nudge to turn "Maybe someday..." into "Come on, let's do it!" You have to know that I'm not a big fan of missed opportunities and I've vowed to myself that I'll never have to say at a later point in my life: "Oh, if only I'd done this or that back then!" Or in this case, the products. I prefer to just do it.

Luckily, I have a partner in Felix who not only supports me with my blog, but was also really keen to create my own products. So the will was there on both sides. But what kind of products would suit wohn.glück, me and, ideally, what other people would like for their homes? I can tell you, we brainstormed like world champions, but none of the ideas really fit. And if one thing was certain, it was that we would only launch products that we fully stand behind. No compromises!

Out of nowhere, something clicked and a loose idea began to take shape in our heads. How about a wall shelf, similar to the one we have as a bedside table in the bedroom? I've been asked about it countless times on Instagram and always had to answer: "Unfortunately, you can't buy that, Felix made it himself." Hmm... wouldn't that be something? Oh yes, and how! The idea for our IVY wall shelf was born at that moment. However, it was immediately clear to us that we couldn't make it ourselves, so we started looking for a carpenter in Hamburg who understood our idea and could implement it. We didn't have to think long about who would be suitable and could hardly believe our luck when, after a few meetings together, it became clear that we were both up for it. It was extremely important to us that we have our products manufactured in Hamburg and know exactly who makes them. I'll tell you where and how IVY is manufactured shortly.

However, it was not our intention to launch just one product. If we were going to take this step, then we would do it with several products at the same time. However, it took a glass or two of red wine before we came up with the idea for our second product. During dinner, Felix blurted out that we also needed something for people who wanted a product from wohn.glück but didn't want to screw a shelf onto the wall at that moment. A little something that you would like to buy for yourself or give as a gift and that always has a context with wohn.glück. So we thought about what people would probably associate most with me and the blog. Guess what was the very first thing that came to mind? Of course! The "Moinsen Leute" that I always say in my Insta stories. Somehow it stuck in my mind so much that it became my trademark. And that's how the idea for my own postcards came about. And here, too, luck was on our side and we found a great manufacturer in Hamburg that printed our postcards and implemented our ideas exactly as they were floating around in our heads.

And here we are now. Shortly before the launch of our own online shop. Crazy! The last few weeks have been so crazy and exciting and I will always look back on them with joy for that reason alone. All the evenings that Felix and I spent working late into the night after working on the products and all the stuff around them. The moment when we held IVY in our hands for the first time and it looked exactly as we had imagined. Or when our stickers and packaging were delivered. Now we are even more excited about what is to come once the products are online. I can tell you one thing: we have various ideas for new products in mind that are just waiting to be implemented!

But now I'll just keep my mouth shut and show you again which products under the name "Wohnglück Design" will be available online in our own shop from September 28th.
