Rail-mounted shelving systems were first popularized by Scandinavian cabinetmakers in the early 1930s. Soon after, many architects and designers released their own designs that would become staples of the Mid-Century Modern movement. Kim Richardt's Shelf Library System, developed for FRAMA and first released in 2016, is a sophisticated take on this tradition with its own design language.
