Frequent Questions about the MOEBE Bed
Yes. The 90 cm wide MOEBE bed can be converted to any width between 120 and 180 cm at any time with the matching extension set. The 90–180 cm variant already consists of the 90 cm bed including the extension set. This way, you don't have to definitively decide on a bed size today.
No. The MOEBE bed is deliberately designed for mattresses with a length of 180 to 210 cm. The most commonly used 200 cm mattress only extends 10 cm beyond the frame at the head and foot ends. This small overhang does not affect the lying properties – the mattress does not bend and remains stable.
The slight overhang is part of the design and gives the bed its characteristic, floating appearance.
The MOEBE bed is suitable for standard mattresses with a width of 90, 120, 140, 160 or 180 cm.
For widths of 140, 160 and 180 cm, you can use either one continuous mattress or two single mattresses. The bed is therefore also suitable for 2 × 70 cm, 2 × 80 cm or 2 × 90 cm mattresses.
You are flexible with the length: The bed is designed for mattresses from 180 to 210 cm.
No. You can use a standard slatted frame, provided it is 180 cm long. Alternatively, MOEBE offers a perfectly matched slatted frame. Box spring mattresses with their own substructure can also be used and do not require an additional slatted frame.
Both versions differ only in their height. The tall version is 10 cm higher than the low version, making it easier to clean under the bed and to get in and out. The design and expansion function are identical for both versions.
The ground clearance depends on the selected height:
- Low version: 17 cm ground clearance
- High version: 27 cm ground clearance
Especially the high version offers enough space for flat storage boxes, bedding or seasonal textiles.
Yes. The MOEBE bed is made of robust steel and has been extensively tested. Despite its delicate appearance, it is extremely stable and designed for daily use.
Yes. The bed is delivered disassembled to save space and can be assembled with just a few tools. If the bed is to be extended later, only four screws need to be loosened, the bed pulled out to the desired width, and the screws tightened again.
The MOEBE bed is available in six powder-coated colors and stainless steel. If you are unsure about the color choice, you can borrow a color sample here to assess the surface in your home.
No. The MOEBE bed is not a sofa bed. It is designed to be used permanently in a chosen size. Expansion occurs when needed – for example, after a move or if your living situation changes – and not on a daily basis.
Yes. The matching MOEBE bedside tables can be attached to or removed from the bed at any time. This allows you to adapt your bed to your needs even at a later stage.
