Designed for HAY by Norwegian designer Andreas Bergsaker, the Chisel Lounge Chair is a contemporary yet timeless reinterpretation of the ever-present plywood chair. Named after the classic carpenter's tool, the chisel, the chair was born out of the desire to create a solid wooden chair with a striking silhouette that would stand the test of time. Designed with a focus on outstanding craftsmanship and ergonomics, the softly contoured, organic seat and backrest offer comfortable support in a visually appealing way. Angled legs with characteristic beveled edges continue the nod to the carving tool. The wide range of wood species, colors, and optional front upholstery, as well as its compact format, make the Chisel Lounge Chair ideal for use in a wide variety of private and public spaces—from living rooms and bedrooms to waiting areas, lobbies, and libraries.
