Rail-guided shelving systems were first popularised in the early 1930s by Scandinavian furniture makers. Soon after, numerous architects and designers presented their own designs, which became integral parts of the "Mid-Century Modern" movement. The "Shelf Library System", developed by Kim Richardt for FRAMA and first presented in 2016, is a sophisticated interpretation of this tradition with its own distinct design language – an absolutely modular system that is suitable for any room.
