Rail-guided shelving systems were first popularized by Scandinavian furniture makers in the early 1930s. Shortly thereafter, numerous architects and designers presented their own designs, which became integral components of the "Mid-Century Modern" movement. The "Shelf Library System" developed by Kim Richardt for FRAMA and first introduced in 2016 is a sophisticated interpretation of this tradition with its own distinct design language – an absolutely modular system that is suitable for any space.
